Hey Johan,

Thanks for the input – and definitely. There's tons of opportunities once you open up the whole chabarang.

I off course agree on the iPhone/Hero thing. But on the other hand I think the car industry is loosing it's initiative. I mean, today I'm driving with my TomTom, using other apps to keep control of speed cams etc. You have the Alcotest apps.

But, we're talking a global HUGE industry that should innovate themselves.

The closest thing today is probably FIAT of all brands, that last year launched ECO drive.

Regarding iPhone in the car – I wrote about RangeRover already in January 2008… http://www.ronnestam.com/2008/01/16/look-what-h...

Oh yes, why does nothing happens in the car industry? Why, for example, not create subscription forms, giving car owners the option to upgrade the software. Not just the user interface but also the software that affect the car's performance, fuel economy and CO-emissions. Imagine being able to raise the effect in your car through a simple upgrade? Who would not?

A first step is to really take advantage of all that which already exists in our
pockets. Your Iphone or Hero + a big individual screen together with a 3G amplifier would suddenly transform your phone to an effective and critical tool when driving: GPS, driving management, traffic information, first aid instructions, video and gaming. Apple is already in your car, but which car brand will be first with their own tailored Iphone app? I vote for Toyota.
