ReadWriteWeb reports on a new startup from Portugal called Tarpipe. Basically Tarpipe does for PR companies and social networking nerds what Yahoo Pipes does for Web 2.0 developers and feed junkies.
Hmm what the heck does that mean? Well, with Tarpipe you can ad all kinds of social networking accounts like Flickr, Jaiku, Twitter, Tumblr, Friendfeed, Photobucket etc. Once added you can then create workflows and this is the nice part. For example if you ad a Flickr image (like the image above) you can then create a workflow that takes the image you created and starts to process it around the social networks of yours.
Hmm, is this really something to write about? Of course it is. Let’s say your company wanna create a social pressroom. Then put the developers of yours on the case. Let them get jiggy with the Tarpipe Open API. Hours later you’ll have your site based pressroom connected to the whole damn internet.
Hmm, is this really good? For now yes. But once tools like this get easier to use, then we’ll have product shoots and press release swarming the web asap as they are updated on websites. For now people have to get their buts over to sites like this one and Yahoo pipes in order to get that spread on the road. Within the next 6 or 12 month we’ll definitely see integration of tools like this in the big content management systems. Not to mention the PR companies equiped with these laser sabres.
On stage was a man called Mattias Östmar, founder of PRfekt. I’ve never heard about the guy before but what came out of his mouth as he did his presentation was extremely interesting and especially innovative. I’m a big fan of people who have been thinking about something for a long time and decide to put everything they’ve got into the mission of telling other people about it.
This was almost a year ago at Daytona Sessions where I also gave a presentation. The thing is, until today it’s been kind of hard to tell people about Mattias vision since it’s quite complex and I even think that Mattias has needed some time in order to find out how to communicate his ideas.
Now, thanks to Björn Falkevik, social video producer among other things, Mattias thoughts has been caught on film. You should definitely have a look at this.
So, the next cool thing from Google is coming our way. Last week, rumors started to spread that something is up over at Google. A new cool thing is coming our way, but what?
My brain went wild. What can they possible launch now that they haven’t launched yet. A new OS? IPTV, Google Finances (something I miss in the apps suite)…but I never thought once about Google Chrome, a new open source browser based on Webkit. Since Firefox has grown quite popular and the latest release is actually very good I thought Google would keep their hands of that market. But once again, Google shows that they will continue to conquer every part of the web.
Buzz PR
What’s almost cooler than the actual browser (that is not launched yet) is the fact that Google started to Buzz PR their new browser in a quite innovative way – old fashioned cartoons.
Philipp Lenssen over at Google Blogoscoped was sent a comic book in his ordinary mail that explained the technical details into the Google Chrome projects. Philipp has written a nice post on the features of Chrome. He’s also been very nice and scanned the entire book and put it up here for you guys to read.
