Och som om det inte var nog – Robin Danehav, med stöd av Petter Karlsson, sitter också vaken 24 timmar i sträck och ser till att du som inte kan komma och hälsa på oss istället kan följa spektaklet LIVE på nätet.

Me and partner in crime Göran Adlén, one of Swedens most hired and admired speakers on future trends, had a nice lunch a couple of weeks ago. Half way into a wonderful Pizza at Vapiano we suddenly cracked, what probably is our most stupid or…genius idea so far:

“Why don’t we lock our selves up somewhere and chat away about trends, communication, design, technology, the environment, the world and much more for 24 hours without any sleep or pause. NO SLEEP – NO PAUSE! and broadcast it – Live!?”

Seconds later I was off the phone with Robin Danehav, thincasting mastermind, who answered in seconds “I’m in!”.

Yesterday I got back from a fantastic weekend spent on the island of Tjärö, Sweden. Together with another 400 people I took part in something called the Sweden Social Web Camp (SSWC 2010).

This morning Swedish TV channel TV4 broadcasted a report made by Lisah Pettersson aka @JournalistLisah featuring a short comment by me.

Part from sharing knowledge the SSWC is also about party. And late the first night I found myself in the bar with my good friend Mattias Östmar. We both spoke about what makes you change things in your life and how you can make that happen. As we chatted away I mention I’d always wanted to jump of a high cliff into water. I’ve never had a problem dropping down a cliff with skis or snowboard but landing in water has always scared me. Seconds later we posted an announcement on a wall saying “Jump the cliff of death at 5 pm tomorrow – join us” and then signed it with our names.

This is how you accomplish your goals. Not only store them in a private room inside your brain. Tell people about what you wanna accomplish and make sure to set a date. Otherwise you’ll end up dying with a brain full of shit. Cause trust me, dreams do rot!

As the evening closed in 5 people had signed up to jump. Something stopped two of them from coming but a forth guy turned up in the last minute. Heidi Harman led us in the right direction. Then I followed. Mattias Östmar not far behind and finally Tobias Basilius left the cliff last. What a kick!

I am a Swede. We’re not supposed to say we’re good at something. In fact even when others say we’re good we’re not supposed to say that either. We even have a name for it – ‘Jantelagen‘.

But I’m not like other Swedes and on top of that I’m pretty darn proud about the fact that the readers of Microsoft Advertising and Indikats monthly newsletter have named me Swedens most influential authority within the field of digital communication and innovation. Thank you!

People ask me from time to time why I’m a blogger. I tell them I’m not. What I am is a junkie for inspiration and reflection. A quite passionate one too.

For me this blog is the ultimate tool to log things that shape my life. Things, thoughts, people, objects and so on. I don’t really care what people think about it. The most important thing is what I think about it. My personal space so to say…only more public that most personal spaces.

The time it takes to write something and then press that publish button is just enough to filter the bad stuff away and let the good shit shine.

This video showing a huge flock of birds is exactly one of those things. I just have to put it down in writing. I spotted it this morning on SwissMiss. Birds have been doing this for about 200 million years and they still put on a show no human being can ever top. I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating – Nature is the ultimate source of inspiration!

This weekend I was one of the privileged ones attending the second TEDxStockholm with among others Hans Rosling speaking. TEDxStockholm is a place for people who believe in the power of ideas and inspiring talks to help shape the face of the future.

Together with another 200 people (who like me created their own name tag) I spent the sunny Saturday inside a cellar and I’ll tell you – if I could have turned myself into a Bat I’d still be there hanging up side down, still inspired still amazed. Thank you Teo Härén and Henrik Ahlen for turning my Sunday into a joyride !

My TEDxStockholm name tag

Once home I spent the evening with some friends who had never heard about TED and once again I realized how few people in this country who actually know about the whole TED.com thing.

Nobody, absolutely nobody should spend their life on this wet bowling ball of ours that we call Mother Earth without having spent at least 10 hours of their life on TED.com.

TED is about sharing thoughts on innovation, ideas, research, knowledge and passion. And since I’m personally all about passion I’d like to share one my favorite speeches from TED before you go on and explore on your own. August has already passed and maybe it’s a little bit late for me to share my horoscope. But since I like it I’ll share it anyway. My birthday is the 20th of August and that makes me a Leo.

I just loved this portrait found on FFFFound of a Leo and couldn’t find a better reason to post it on my blog.

Here is my Horoscope:

Med undantag för något överraskande inslag är talarlistan till The Next Event klar. Jag är så otroligt stolt över att få presentera vad jag tycker är sveriges intressantaste mix av talare inom ämnen som kommunikation, varumärken, marknadsföring, sociala media och reklam. Idag satte vi pricken över ‘i’ på plats när Gunnar Broman, the ABSOLUT man, tackade ja.

Mitt arbete med The Next Event börjar närma sig finalen. Lokalen är satt. Talarna klara. Schemat börjar sätta sig och nu börjar det handla om att dramatisera dagen på Södra Teatern.

Nu har vi en fantastisk blandning av unga, gamla, erfarna, nyfikna och framförallt kunniga talare på plats. Tillsammans kommer vi ge allt för att våra gäster får en så unik och inspirerande dag som möjligt.

I don’t know about you but I’ve had a great summer. Most of the time I’ve been spending time with my kids but I’ve managed to sneak in some golf, sailing with my Hobie Cat, boat riding in the Archipelago, BBQ with friends and family and above all – time off. In order for creativity to grow you’ve gotta mix up thinking time with black holes.

Summer however is coming to an end and I’m slowly am firing up my engine. Once that engine is started I do hope we meet – who ever you are.

This autumn I’ll continue to deliver my services to a diverse group of brands and companies that has asked my help in order to create advertising campaigns and strategies that moves their brands and businesses into the future.

My work includes everything from re-branding, art direction, jury-work, integrated advertising campaigns, online strategies, business developments and creative ideas to different agencies worldwide etc.

The next couple of months I’ll tell you more about some of my ‘gigs‘ but for now let’s focus on my speaking appearances.

This is one of the highlights of the year. Wednesday Relations asked me to direct an event for them. The list of speakers is turning this event in to a must see event this year. I’ll be moderating the event together with Wednesday Relations and also introduce and end the day.

If you’re in retailing you can be sure of one thing – the competition is coming from online businesses, not offline. This is probably why I’m one of the speakers at Handelns Dag 2009 in Uppsala.

Läkemedelskongressen 2009 – Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Sweden is just about to release the monopoly on running a pharmacy. As a result of this I’ve been invited to talk about digital communication and social media at this years Läkemedelskongressen at the City Conference Centre in Stockholm.

För någon vecka sen stod jag på en brygga ute i skärgården och lade till med båten när Jenny Stiernstedt på Dagens Nyheter slog en signal och undrade om jag kunde uttala mig lite om människan, internet och framtiden.

Shoot! sa jag och idag publicerades intervjun på DN’s nätupplaga.

Sedan några år tillbaka gör jag då och då gästspel hos Wednesday Relations, ett nätverk för marknadsförare. Där brukar jag ofta tala om internet och hur det påverkar företags och varumärkens sätt att kommunicera i framtiden.

Tidigt i våras fick jag frågan från Wednesday om jag inte kunde tänka mig ta ett lite större engagemang ihop med dem, de ville göra ett större event och fokusera ännu mer på framtidens kommunikation. Efter några sittningar satte vi idén om ett nytt typ av event som blandar talare med olika typer av dramaturgiska inslag. Resultatet blev The NEXT Event by Wednesday Relations i regi av Johan Ronnestam.

Jag är oerhört stolt och glad att få företräda Wednesday Relations och särskilt få möjligheten att starkt påverka talarlistan, själva eventet och även platsen för dagen.

Ett av mina första tankar var att talarlistan sätts ihop utifrån vad jag vill få fram under dagen, inte vilka som sponsrar eventet. Min känsla är att många större event kännetecknas av sponsrade event med sponsrade talare. Det ville jag undvika. Sponsorer tror jag vi får tag på ändå, det handlar ju först och främst om att positionera sig med innovation i det här fallet.

Dessutom ville jag inte genomföra eventet på någon vanlig lokal. Varumärkeskommunikation handlar om känslor, så borde även The NEXT event uppfattas. Det kunde inte bli bättre än Södra Teatern vid Mosebacke. Klassisk lokal!

Ännu mer tacksam är jag över de talarna som inom loppet av minuter glatt tackade ja. Jag twittrade, ringde, mailade och facebookade runt och snart hade vi kommunikationsprofiler som Per Robert Öhlin, Stefan Hyttfors, Björn Alberts, Judith Wolst, Per Torberger, Elia Mörling ombord. Tillsammans med annorlunda inslag som Leo Razzak som företräder Fryshuset och fryshusandan samt en och annan hemlig gäst är jag övertygad om att den här dagen verkligen tillför något till den svenska event scenen.
