interactivity

If you have people smiling after they’ve interacted with your brand I’d say half of the game is won. Just seconds ago I browsed through Visualjournalism where I read a post about Googles Chinese competitor Baidu and their newly launched equivalence to Google Map. Baidu has launched a SimCity styled map engine.

It made my day. I hope it makes yours! Head over to Baidu and play.

Baidu’s interactive SimCity styled map.

Have a great weekend!

It’s not all about creating WOW-effects. You’ve gotta deliver some kind of value too. And this must be one of the better way can you deliver both of those qualities in a physical space.

Imagine what this would do for Swedish tourism if it was installed in any airport in the world showcasing our beautiful country. Imagine what it would do for a fashion brand if installed at the next fashion show letting people explore the behind the scenes, talk to the designers etc etc. Imagine what it would do for any brand if placed at any coming business fair. Get this one geared up with some online community functionality and you’ll have people peeing their pants!

Infosthetics got me turned on this evening when they pointed me to Sensory Minds and their work. Ah, while you’re at it. Make sure you check out some of their other interfaces on vimeo – rockin´

Spotted this wonderful video showcasing a series of round balls that generate different sounds as the audience bounce them around.

It’s a great ‘stunt’ performed by Intellijel in collaboration with Danjel Van Tijn at the Siggraph 2009. Give people something fun and innovative to interact with and they’ll do just that. Listen to the audience laughing – they love it!

It’s sunday evening. I wanna sleep. And this nice ad from IKEA Canada finally makes me shut down and get to bed. But before I do I gotta share the piece with you as it proves interactivity is always appreciated even thought it might not be digital.

The idea “So comfortable, you’ll need shorter bedtime stories” has been executed as a nice double page spread where you get your own copy of an super short version of classical bed time stories like for example The Tortoise and the Hare. The ad hits me straight where it should do, in my heart. On top of that I’m thinking – If I would have seen this ad I’d saved the little book for my kids. It’s a very nice ad made by Toronto based agency Zig and I found it on the Skinny blog.

So anyway, where was I…..eh…zzz..zzz..zz……..zz…….z (in this case it means it’s a good piece)
