When the iPhone was launched people were judging the new mobile by its content. Well, by now I think most people has understood that what’s in there from start is not the thing, its what creative people will do with the technology that matter. The new application Ocarina, the second iPhone application from Silicon Valley based Smule, has surged to the top spot on the iPhone App store just a little over a week after launching.
I wonder why

The only bad thing with it is that you can’t create apps that will compete with for example Safari or any other of the built in apps. If the iPhone continues to gain market shares it would be really strange if they not get in some trouble for that .. Microsoft got sued just because they bundled applications in windows ..

As long as they base things like Safari on Webkit, which in its turn is Open Source I’m not that scared of it. But I do agree, they should still let people in no matter what. Especially if they lock search which people are buzzing about.
Both Google and Apple are slowly turning themselves into the former Microsoft while Microsoft are turning themselves into something different.
