Richard Gatarski wrote on his blog earlier today about a new iPhone app called Sekai Camera. It’s so cool so I just had to spread the news.

The Sekai Camera was presented by TonchiDot on TechCrunch50 earlier in september. This new app makes it possible to combine online data with offline positions. Basically, if you turn the iPhone camera on you can start tagging GPS positions. A clean little user interface let’s you sort and view content on the live world the way you want it. This really shows what you can do with a mobile that is equipped with GPS, Motion sensors, camera, 3G connections. Most important however is the SDK that let’s people build whatever they want for the phone. I wrote a couple of month ago about Social Television. Some of you might have thought that that vision was far off? Well, now you see. Everything is possible.

Great. Finally you don’t need to wear a red rose when you’re on a blind date!

Since the mobile established it self as the ONE personal communication tool advertising agencies, brands and mobile technology enthusiasts has always raised it as the future place of advertising. And the more people that get their hands on a mobile, the more people seem to think that we will all walk around and view things while being exposed to ads.

Will this be the fact?

No.

Instead I believe that we can expect the mobile to be the truly first platform where we enjoy information and entertainment without any kind of advertising as we know it today.

Advertising as a whole is moving away from one to many and instead personalization becomes more and more important every day. Of course brand communication in traditional media will hang on yet for another 50 years but it’s going to change as technology get’s easier to use and people understand what they can do with it. That all comes along with the generations to come.
New tools like Netvibes let’s us read feeds from major websites and blogs without having to see any ads. We read what our friends to through friendfeeds like Friendfeed and microblogs like Jaiku, Twitter and Bloggy. If we wanna view video we head for YouTube and search for content. If you’re a brand you might be lucky get a hit from us, but you’re fighting your way through the jungle [click to continue…]

Last friday I had a lunch with serial entrepreneur Johan Ejermark. Among other things Johan has managed to have 30000! people report the stats from Swedish sport events in his company Everysport. A hamburger and some french fries later I was eager to get my hands on a beta login to Bloggy, a new Swedish Jaiku/Twitter clone.

Obviously I started by logging into Bloggy and asking for one. But, as I was there I thought, how do I get hold of one faster? Logged into Jaiku and searched for Bloggy. Minutes later and had a beta code in my hands. What a great way to spread a competitive service. Use the competitor. The digital way of opening a shoe store door to door with the leading shoe store.

So. Now I’m a Bloggy user. But is there room for yet another microblog. Hell yeah. What strikes me as I log is the fact that I feel part of a smaller group of people in Sweden that understands digital. A quick search and I find most people that have something to say about the online world. On the settings page I configure Bloggy so that it will update both my Jaiku and Twitter account. One of the problems with Jaiku is that I have to refresh every now and then. This is not the fact with Bloggy. Good.

All in all, Bloggy doesn’t ad anything unique to the online world. However, the way they’ve launched it, the people that are in there and the country of origin is unique. I for one will definitely use it and I’ve already placed it among my contact details.

If you feel like giving Bloggy a go, gimme your mail address and I’ll send some invites.

Earlier today, Google together with T-mobile and HTC introduced the first mobile phone running Android. The press conference took place in New York. To be honest they didn’t really surprise that much since Google has already released a lot of news on the Android. The phone from HTC was a quite ugly piece, but I like the fact that it got a large keyboard.

As said, it was a busy day for me to, so I’ll send you all along to ReadWriteWeb that got a good post on this.

Timbuktu is one of Swedens most famous artists. Together with Dregen, famous for being the guitarist in Swedish punk rock band Backyard Babies he is launching his latest single on Pirate Bay.

When you enter Pirate bay today, you’re welcomed by the image above that has replaced the Piratebay ship. A click takes you straight to a download page where a freshly uploaded music video also promotes the new song.

What’s stunning with this release is the fact that while most artist dislike that people download music and some (Metallica) even sue people for it. Timbuktu and Dregen understands the benefits of the giving something away. The music industry is changing. Today music companies makes the big bucks while artists tour the world to get their cash. Tomorrow artists who understands how to use new technologies becomes masters of their own brands. They won’t make their big bucks on albums. Instead its the fame that comes with world wide spread that will do it for them. However I do think that Timbuktu and Dregen first and foremost care about their music, that’s their passion.

Timbuktu and Dregen are obviously two pretty smart guys that knows how to tap into the world of youngesters. Alfa Beta, that’s a smart Swedish blog that made me notice this one.

On stage was a man called Mattias Östmar, founder of PRfekt. I’ve never heard about the guy before but what came out of his mouth as he did his presentation was extremely interesting and especially innovative. I’m a big fan of people who have been thinking about something for a long time and decide to put everything they’ve got into the mission of telling other people about it.

This was almost a year ago at Daytona Sessions where I also gave a presentation. The thing is, until today it’s been kind of hard to tell people about Mattias vision since it’s quite complex and I even think that Mattias has needed some time in order to find out how to communicate his ideas.

Now, thanks to Björn Falkevik, social video producer among other things, Mattias thoughts has been caught on film. You should definitely have a look at this.

It turns out there’s a plan behind everything. Microsoft launched part two of their Blitzkrieg against Apple. The strategy behind this one is obvious. Apples turned Microsoft into a boring nerd with their Apple vs PC commercials. Microsoft now puts a face on those nerds.

Classic strategy. Choose an enemy. Become David and challenge Goliath. Goliath you say, isn’t that Microsoft? No I say. Since Apple started bullying Microsoft they’ve slowly turned themselves into Goliath. Steve Jobs has basically given Bill Gates the opportunity to strike back from below. What can we expect from Apple now that Microsoft has disarmed the entire Mac vs PC thing. Or have they?

I still lack online activities in this campaign. After all. Microsoft is a PC company. They’re about online presence and they own a good part of Facebook. One things that there should have been something they’ve could have done there since we make up a bit over 100 million Faces.

One thing. The TVC that started the whole Microsoft discussion, the one with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. Was there a plan to do something quirky in order to create a global debate only to pave the road for these commercials. In that case it’s genius. Cause I’m not sure they would have gotten the same attention if these would have been launched without that support.

Foreign – The End. Ronnestam – The Beginning.

September 19, 2008

Nature is fantastic. When an apple fall dead to the ground, it’s the start of something new.
In april 2002 I founded Foreign together with Viktoria Wallner.
Today, I took the decision to close the company down.
Did I have a choice? NO.
Saving Foreign, that might have worked out. Saving myself, no.
For the last 3 years, I’ve tried [...]

Agent Provocateur knows how to tease

September 17, 2008

Let me make this clear from the beginning. It’s not the product that made me write about the shopping experience. But, I’ll admit that I found the shopping experience because of the product.
I’m a fan of usability. What doesn’t work…doesn’t work. However, I’m also a fan of dramatization and communication. This site by Agent Provocateur [...]

Few companies lead. Most follow when it comes to Web 2.0

September 16, 2008
